That didn’t take long. I woke up today with…the travel bug.

Last night my wife was asking me what I want to do for my birthday. It falls on a holiday weekend so we have that Monday off and I already decided to take that Friday off. We have a 4-day weekend and since we have no real trips coming up for a few months we decided we should try to go somewhere.

We have it narrowed down to Wilmington, NC; Toronto; Tampa or Charleston, SC. Flights and hotels might be just out of our price range to go to Toronto. Charleston there’s no easy way to get there — drive too long and no direct flights. Tampa is a possibility. But I’m longing to go back to Wilmington. It’s not too far to drive (5.5-6 hours). It’s affordable. We know our way around and where we want to stay. Wilmington is sounding more and more like a winner.

This is just coming to me but I think I’d like to make it a point to try and take an out of town trip at least once a month this year. Next weekend I’m headed to Rehoboth with friends. February it sounds like Wilmington is likely. March is a question mark and I already have 2-3 trips planned in April. I don’t think this is too unreasonable!

I’ll leave you with this. I was listening to Counting Crows — A Long December on YouTube while writing this and this mix popped up and I’m pretty sure I have the next 90 minutes of listening set.
